Humility: Disciple’s Guide to a Humble Life

Humility: Disciple’s Guide to a Humble Life

Humility is a close cousin to selfless, agape love, but often misunderstood. It is attractive when we see genuine humility in others, but how to discern pride and work towards humility in ourselves is often elusive. This podcast examines all the important New Testament passages on humility in order to help disciples learn to humble themselves and serve others with true humility. This is part of the JesusWalk Bible Study Series, with Dr. Ralph F. Wilson.
Names and Titles of God

Names and Titles of God

God's names, titles, and descriptors are windows into his character. As we learn his names and meditate on them, we will come to know him more intimately. We will begin to trust him more fully. And we will find our hearts drawn ever more passionately to do his will here on earth as it is in heaven. And so I invite you to undertake a journey with me to explore God by means of his names.
John's Letters: Discipleship Lessons from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John

John's Letters: Discipleship Lessons from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John

First, Second, and Third John, sometimes called the Epistles or Letters of John, are like trail mix -- concentrated, chewy, and nutritious. As I teach God's Word, I find myself returning again and again to First John. When John writes these letters he is an elderly man. When he was young, he was Jesus'"beloved disciple."Now, when he is old, he is passing on the faith he learned at Jesus'feet. He writes with great affection, but that doesn't mean he is soft. In these letters he: Refutes enemies of Christ who are spreading false and dangerous doctrine. Challenges believers to reject darkness and live in the light. Calls for righteous living and assures believers of the forgiveness of God. Proclaims love as the greatest commandment of Christ our Lord Jesus Christ. These letters pack a punch to their first century readers as well as to readers in the twenty-first century.
